In your final Product Innovation class (INNO 460 - Project) you will have the opportunity to work on real problems provided by external organizations. Sometimes these projects require companies to share sensitive information with our student teams, and that information cannot be shared with others outside of the project. This means that you will need to sign Non-disclosure Agreements. In addition, you may be asked to sign an Intellectual Property Waiver indicating that anything new or novel you create for the company/nonprofit you are working for belongs to them. These documents will be explained in detail to you at the beginning of that class. You will be able to ask questions about them and will receive a copy of the documents. In the culmination experience for the Product Innovation program students will work on real product innovation problems from industry sponsors. We commonly work with large corporations like Capital One, Carmax, Altria, Dupont, and Pfizer.

In the Venture Creation Program students will get the chance to pitch their own business ideas in the certificate culmination experience. If your business idea is desired by the other students and a team forms around your idea, your idea is worked on the whole semester. If not, you may be asked to work on another classmate’s idea.
