Ignite Innovation: A NASA Patent Mining Workshop and Networking Event

Brought to you by NASA Langley Research Center and the VCU da Vinci Center for Innovation

Join us for an exciting opportunity to explore the innovative potential of NASA technologies, kick off Innovation Month at VCU, and connect with collaborators throughout RVA and beyond!

Ignite Innovation will give you the chance to:
    • Learn about cutting-edge NASA technologies from the inventors and subject matter experts themselves
    • Meet and collaborate with students, faculty and staff, community members, industry experts, researchers and more to explore the commercial potential of these technologies
    • Find out how to take the ideas from this workshop to the next level, including creating a start-up based on NASA technologies

What is a patent mining workshop?
    • Prior to the workshop, you will receive background and patent information for the technologies that will be discussed and ideated upon during the workshop. We ask that you hold some time to familiarize yourself with this information to make the most out of the workshop.
    • During the workshop, inventors will present an overview of their technologies and give you time to ask them any questions you have. Then, you will be tasked to work with other attendees and come up with potential commercial applications for those technologies.
    • As we wrap up the workshop, you will learn the steps you can take to take these ideas to the next level and stay engaged with NASA and the da Vinci Center.

Am I the right fit for this workshop?
Absolutely! We’ve invited you specifically because of your unique experiences and expertise. We’re looking for an eclectic group of attendees to come up with creative commercial applications for these technologies, from Space Nerds to Absolutely-Staying-on-Earth nerds!
