The Emergency Department Challenge: Innovation Kickoff

Over the past several weeks, our team of students and designed have been using a human-centered, systems thinking approach to tackle one of the most pressing challenges in our local healthcare system: the increasing number of patients leaving Emergency Departments (EDs) without being seen or against medical advice. Through 1-on-1 interviews and in-depth observations, we’ve gained valuable insights into the inner workings of the ED system and the experiences of patients, providers, and staff.

Join us for an evening of insights and collaboration—where you'll have the chance to shape the future of emergency care and drive real impact for patients, providers, and healthcare systems!

During the first half, students will present their mid-term presentations. You’ll hear our findings, explore key opportunities for change, and get to ask some questions to the design team.

In the second half of the event, we'll be kicking off Ideation. You'll be collaborating in interdisciplinary groups to brainstorm ideas to to build on these opportunities.
